And here comes a new year, with renovated hopes and resolutions. Starting a “journal” like blog among those, so first post will be only notes from our new year eve/day. We had left overs from xmas yet, so decided to celebrate dinner at home, complimenting it with some additional courses. That said, our new years eve menu ended up being:
Starters
Selection of Cheese: sweet pecorino, asiago, truffled robiolli, riccota insalata, brie.
Serrano ham, rye crackers and strawberry jam.
Kirill also brought provlone, gorgonzola, dried tomatoes and salami.
Crab meat (Raquel recipe) with farofa.
Main
Wagyu Sirloin with beetroot salad and daphinois potatoes.
Dessert
Pumpkin pie, flourless almond chocolate cake, cookies, mince pie.
We had starter with beaujoulais wine. For the crab meat, I had one pint of spitfire english pale ale, and with the mains, Kirills got a malbec for us. After talking about different topics, we had dinner and hurried to Primrose Hill for watching the fireworks. We tried to meet Joao there, but couldn’t make it, as it was too crowded. We brought a champagne bottle and plastic glassed to toast for the new year. It was nice there, as it’s one of our favourite spots in London, and have been there many times this past year, do really great and promising start.
